get
there

air
Lao
Airlines
flies
periodically
between
Vientiane
and
Xam
Neua,
the
provincial
capital
of
Houaphanh
(flight
time
is
one
hour
and
15
minutes).

bus
Buses
leave
for
Vientiane
(25
hours),
Phonsavanh
(8
hours),
Nong
Khiaw
(12
hours)
and
Luang
Prabang
(16
hours).
Houaphanh
is
also
easily
accessible
for
those
arriving
from
Vietnam.
There
are
buses
from
Thanh
Hoa
in
Vietnam
to
the
Lao/Vietnamese
border
at
Nameo.
From
the
border
visitors
can
catch
a
bus
to
Xam
Neua
for
onward
travel.
