Regular flights from Kuala Lumpur, Penang
and Johor Bahru to the nearest airport in alor Setar are available. From the
airport, there are taxis to Kangar and Arau. It takes 45 minutes to reach
Kangar and less to Arau. |

By Rail |
|
|
There is no direct train from Singapore to
Perlis. Transfer to KL-Ipoh-Butterworth-Hat Yai train at KL Sentral, heading
towards North. There is train access from Kuala Lumpur to Arau and Padang
Besar. From Arau Train Station, there are taxis to Kuala Perlis and an hour’s
ferry ride to Langkawi Island. |

By Road |

You can drive to Perlis from Thailand and
Singapore. Alternatively, there are coach service and express bus service from
Kuala Lumpur. |

By Driving |
|
|
From Singapore, travel on the North-South
expressway on the E1 route heading towards Perlis. Exit after toll No.182 State
Road No.K6 for Kangar on the Chunglun - Kuala Lumpur – Perlis highway. From
here continue to drive towards Arau until you reach the Golden Jubilee
Roundabout (Bulatan Jubli Emas) and drive towards Persiaran Jubli Emas. At the
T-junction, take the right turn towards Jalan Panglima. The places of interest
are located along this road until Jalan Raja Syed Saffi.
Drive straight on towards Sungai Perlis from the Chunglun – Kuala Lumpur –
Perlis highway to reach the Kuala Perlis Jetty if heading to Langkawi Island. |
